Guadalupe G Medina

Guadalupe G. Medina formally from Brownsville, age 92, was taken to be with her creator on January 8, 2020. She was born on July 5, 1927 to Alberto R. Garza and Guadalupe G. Rios in Las Yescas Ranch, Texas. She was raised in Brownsville, Texas. She attended up to the 8th grade.

She married her husband of 63 years. Guadalupe G. Medina was employed by Brownsville ISD for 14 years. She was a loving mother and enjoyed participation in baking, gardening her roses. She will always be remembered for her love and devotion to family. She enjoyed cooking for family holiday gatherings. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Heaven has another angel.

Guadalupe G. Medina is preceded in death by her spouse Vicente T. Medina, infant son Vicente Jr.; brother Benjamin R. Garza and parents Alberto R. Garza and Guadalupe R. Rios; step mom Anabel Garza.

Guadalupe is survived by Marcelo Medina (son), Estella M. Alvarado (Arturo) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Christy Garcia of San Antonio, Texas; Edward Medina (E. Marie) of Kyle, Texas; grandchildren Alex Alvarado (Roxanne), Myra M. Sullivan (Richard) of Katy, Texas, Jessica G. Hopson (Jesse) of San Antonio, Texas; great grandchildren Jared Alvarado, Trinity J. Alvarado, Emmett Sullivan, Baylor Hopson, and Evelyn Hopson.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. on the same evening at Corpus Christi Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at SS Cyril and Methodius at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Alex Alvarado, Adrian Alvarado, Roland Alvarado, Juan Fuentes, Joe Ramos and Myra Sullivan.

Her son Marcelo and daughter Estella were at her side at time of death. We would like to thank her special friends from Brownsville Oralia Ramirez, Benito Mireles family and Teresa Trevino, and from Laredo Tina Butkus who would call weekly to inquire about her.
