Maria Guadalupe Luis, 76, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Clarkwood, where she was a member of the Guadalupanas.

She will always be remembered for her love of gardening, her love of her family, and her devotion to her faith.

Guadalupe was preceded in death by her parents, Maria Hernandez and Benito Barrientos; her husband, Jesus S. Luis; her son, Jerardo Luis; and her sister, Benita Marcha.

Guadalupe leaves behind her children to cherish her memory: Mary Reyes (Alfredo), Rosalinda (Roger) Soliz, Carolina (Isidro) Aguilar, Olga (Marco) Flores, Lydia (Mario) Gonzales, Martin (Audra) Luis, Esmeralda Luis, Jesse Luis, Juanita (David) Perez, Sara (Jose) Flores, Javier (Marivel) Luis, Leticia (Albert) Treadaway, Theresa (Matthew) Ridlon, Anthony Luis, Michael (Diana) Luis, and Vanessa (Adrian) Martinez. Her memory will also be cherished by 36 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 1 sister, and 6 brothers.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 16, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet, Texas. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons.
