Gloria P. Mendez

Gloria P. Mendez, age 63, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Gloria was born on May 26, 1956, in Abilene, Texas. She was born to Alejandro Ponce and Dora Deleon.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters Maggie, Mary and Angie Ponce, 2 brothers Alejandro and Raul (Ray) Ponce and her son David Valdez and her granddaughter Victoria Valdez.
She is survived by husband, Antonio Mendez Jr. , 2 sons, Robert (Michelle) and Danny Valdez; 3 daughters, Belia, Laura Valdez and Lisa Mendez; 10 grandchildren, David, Marcus, Krystal, Desyrae, Ciera, Erikka, Alexandria, Michael, Makayla and Mariah; 11 great grandchildren; 5 sisters; 2 brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gloria was a loving, caring and very giving woman. She enjoyed shopping for hours, reading scriptures in the Bible and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She always listened to Christian music and enjoyed spreading the Word of God. Her children were blessed to have her as their Mother. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. She left us with many beautiful memories. Her legacy lives within her family.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a prayer service to be held at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the Corpus Christi Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
