Gloria Caraway, age 69, passed away Saturday May 29, 2021 at Bay Area Hospital.
She was born in Lamesa, TX, on September 19, 1951 to Daniel and Margarita Garcia, but resided in Corpus Christi since 1960.
She worked as a hair stylist for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Corpus Christi Christian Fellowship church. She was a devout Christian and was always involved with numerous church activities.
She is survived by her spouse Bobby Ray Caraway, daughter Monica Golleher, son Darrell Golleher (Ofelia), granddaughters Taegan Golleher-Murray (Isaiah) and McKenlie Golleher, sister Nelda De La Garza and brother Ruben Garcia. She was predeceased by her sister Hilda Rodriguez, and brothers Alberto Garcia and Emilio Garcia.
Gloria was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and friend. She enjoyed styling hair, attending church, cooking, baking, and playing backgammon, bingo, and search games. She also enjoyed having lunch with her friends, family gatherings and spending time with her comadre (daughter in law's mother).
She had an infectious laughter and a generous soul. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her, but never forgotten.
A funeral service is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on June 7 at the Corpus Christi Funeral
