In loving memory of Gerald L. McMenamy

Gerald L. McMenamy, fondly known as Gerry, passed away on September 2, 2023, at the age of 82. Born on November 10, 1940, to the late Emmett and Alwilda McMenamy, Gerry lived a life filled with love, dedication, and cherished memories.
Gerry was part of the inaugural graduating class of Mary Carroll High School in 1959, a milestone that marked the beginning of his educational journey. Following his graduation, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from June 1959 to September 1961, demonstrating his commitment to serving others.
Throughout his retirement years, Gerry found joy in supporting his beloved Baylor Bears and spending precious moments with his cherished family. However, it was his passion for quarter horses that truly defined him. His love for these magnificent creatures brought him great happiness and created lasting memories.
Gerry is preceded in death by his grandson, Brandon Buchi, and his brother, Billy McMenamy. He is survived by his children, Kyle McMenamy, Melanie (Kirk) Buchi, and Patrick (Crystal) McMenamy, as well as his grandchildren, Riley MacCallum, Kayla Buchi, Kylie McMenamy, Reagan McMenamy, and Weston McMenamy. He will be deeply missed by his sister, Shirley Bowen, sister-in-law Judy McMenamy, and nieces and nephews Barry, Terry, Troy, Suzanne, and Janet.
A Gathering to honor Gerry's life will take place at 8:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Oso Creek Church, located at 7402 Yorktown Blvd., Corpus Christi, TX 78414. Funeral Services will commence at 8:30 A.M., followed by interment at Coastal Bend State Veteran Cemetery.
In this time of sorrow, may Gerry's memory bring comfort and solace to all who knew and loved him. His love for his family, dedication to his country, and passion for quarter horses will forever be remembered. May he rest in peace, knowing that his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
