Frank Cantu

Frank Cantu, age 89, was called home on February 19, 2021. Frank was born on October 31, 1931 to Salomon Cantu and Manuela Benavides Cantu. Frank was a graduate of Roy Miller High School and worked for many years and retired from the Corpus Christi Army Depot. Frank enjoyed visiting with family and friends, reading his newspaper and caring for his cats. Frank never turned away a stray cat and enjoyed feeding them all. He will always be remembered for his love of laughter, quiet nature, service in the community and devotion to family and friends. Frank was a loving, kind son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to his family and to all who knew him. He was also especially devoted to his true love, Mary.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Salomon Cantu and Manuela B. Cantu, sister, Elida Valadez, brothers, Ramiro Cantu, George Cantu and Salomon Cantu.

Frank is survived by his sister-in-law, Pearl Cantu, nieces and nephews, Janie Solis, CDR Nora M. Perez (Ret), Norma Jean King, George Cantu, Jr., Naomi Johnson, Nenette Cantu, Veronica Martinez, Steven Cantu, Gary Cantu, David Cantu, Marty Cantu, Angela Cantu, Scott Cantu and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM, Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with a funeral service to be held at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are George Cantu, Jr., Scott Cantu, Trey King, Tim Johnson, Jill Burttschell, Anna King and Georgia Cantu.
