Francisco Rodriguez

Francisco Rodriguez, Jr. passed peacefully from this life into the loving arms of our Lord on December 27, 2021, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was 97 years old.
He was born to Irene De la Garza Rodriguez and Francisco Rodriguez, Sr. in Poth, Texas and grew up in Bishop, Texas surrounded in love by 13 siblings, including three surviving sisters: Josefa Licon, Irene Rodriguez and Carmen Gallegos.

He was predeceased by his parents, 10 of his 13 siblings and grandsons Frank Eric Rodriguez and Rodolfo Ramos Sanchez, Jr.

Francisco, also known as Kiko and Frank was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend. He is survived by his children: Francisco Rodriguez, III (Margaret), Yolanda R. Palacios (Adalberto), Maximo Rodriguez and Melissa Rodriguez (Rene) with 15 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and Cleo’s children: Gloria Krause, Oscar Rosales (Lupe) and Mary Rosales.

As a young man, Kiko, was one of several siblings who worked side by side with his father repairing shoes in his dad’s shoe shop/Frank’s Shoe Shop in Bishop, Tx. When he married his first wife, Emilia, he went on to open his own shop known as Max’s Shoe Service in Corpus Christi, Tx. When he sold his shop, he then went to work at the Chapman Ranch as a maintenance man, an outdoor job that he truly loved, but most of all he appreciated the working relationship he established with his supervisor, Danna Orr who for many years remained so supportive and never forgot him on his birthday or holidays. Francisco loved his Catholic Church and was active in various ministries at the Chapman Ranch Chapel and at Our Lady of Sorrows where he also was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #11298 in San Antonio, Tx. Lastly, he has been an active parishioner at St. Peter Prince of the Apostle Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Friday, January 7, 2022 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 8, 2022 at St. Peter Prince of the Apostle Catholic Church, 3901 Violet Rd. Corpus Christi, Texas. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd. Corpus Christi, Tx.

The family will gather for fellowship and a reception after the interment at St. William Hall at 3901 Violet Rd. Corpus Christi, Tx.
