Obituary

Felicitas “Fela” Gamboa, age 74, passed away on April 15, 2024. Felicitas Gamboa was born on March 6, 1950, to David and Juanita Sillas. She graduated from Martin High School in Laredo, Texas in 1970. Felicitas Gamboa was employed by Spohn Memorial Hospital before her retirement as an EEG Technician.

Felicitas Gamboa enjoyed singing, dancing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her love of laughter, sense of adventure, her devotion to family. She will also be remembered for her hot sauce (No DeDe you still can’t have the recipe), arroz con pollo, her red long nails, her red lipstick, her high heels, and amazing calves.

She will also be remembered for her dedication of over 45 years to her home church Cathedral of the Palms, now Venture Church and the love she had for street ministry, to our friends on the streets of Corpus Christi and the Community.

Her eternal dedication to her husband, Javier, of 51 years of marriage. Their love story is one of laughter, adventure, forgiveness, dancing, and lots of PDA.

Fela was a loving Mother, Sister, Aunt, Wife, Minister, Nana to her Grandchildren, Marmy and Colonel to her Family.

Felicitas Gamboa is preceded in death by her Parents, David & Juanita Sillas.

Felicitas Gamboa is survived by Husband Javier Dolores Gamboa. Children; David Javier (Yasmin) Gamboa, Jennifer Marie (Daryl) Eason & Rebekah Jean Gamboa. Grandchildren; Her favorite and only granddaughter, Kiara Nicole Gamboa, Her little lambs, Jordan Jackson Eason, Jathan William Eason and Joshua Gamboa Eason and her goddaughter, Jeanette “Jenny” Garcia, her faithful forever protective chiweenie companion Toby (Tobias), Brothers; Andres (Elsa) Sillas, Jose (Rosa- Deceased) Sillas and Sister; Esther (Fernando) Mendiola And Many Nieces and Nephews.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as honorary pallbearers are Benny Barrera, Jason Chapa, Daryl Eason, J.J. Gamboa, Ramiro “Ram” Gamboa and Jorge Montano

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27th, 2024, at Venture Church, 3401 S. Alameda St., Corpus Christi, Tx. 78411.

Special Thank You to our Venture Church Family, the Amazing Staff of Spohn Shoreline (the Nurses on the 8th Floor), and Dr. John E. Schulze M.D., her doctor of many years.
