Obituary
Farouq Tanous, age 73, passed away on October 14th, 2020, at his home surrounded by loved ones in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Farouq was born on January 1st, 1947 in Nazareth, Palestine to Mary Hadad and Fayez Tanous.
In 1948, his family moved to Syria, where he grew up and attended school. Farouq moved to Kuwait, where he met and married his wife Georgette. They raised 3 sons together in Syria before moving to the United States in 2007.
Farouq was the life of the party. He enjoyed spending his time surrounded by family and friends at social gatherings. He loved nothing more than to see everyone laughing, dancing, drinking, and having a good time. His favorite pastimes include playing card games and backgammon with friends.
Farouq is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tony Tanous.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Georgette Tanous, and his sons and their spouses, Fayez Tanous (fiancé Hiba Jabour), Ghassan Tannous (wife Teresa Tannous), and Jameel Farouq Tannous (wife Lauren Tannous); his three grandchildren, Georgette Sophia, Amelia Jane, and Giselle; his sisters Souad Tanous, Fereal Tanous, and Antoinette Tanous.
A Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2020 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. that same day. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
