Evangelina Islas Garcia

Evangelina Islas Garcia, age 81, passed away May 3, 2020. She was born on November 28, 1938 to Valentine and Natalia Cortez. She was born in Encinal, Texas; however, she lived in Banquete, Texas, most of her life. She enjoyed bingo and gambling. Evangelina was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was loved by all.
Evangelina is preceded in death by her husband, Juan P. Garcia, 2 brothers, Valentine Islas, Jr. and Eddie Rodriguez, two sisters, Elida Rodriguez and Maria Martinez.
Evangelina is survived her six children; Raul (San Juana) Garcia, Gracie Mungia, Ismael Garcia, Juan (Gwen) Garcia, Patricia (Efrain) Garcia and Manuel (Dawna) Garcia, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, three sisters; Oralia, Silvia and Hilda and one brother, Arturo.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. that same day.
Due to the current City Ordinance, the Funeral Service will be reserved for the family, 50 people. Webcasting will be available.
