Obituary

Eunice Rivera, age 45, passed away on May 26, 2019. She was born November 21, 1973 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Hilda and Ruben Rivera.
Preceded in death by her daddy, Ruben L. Rivera; brother Jonathan Rivera; paternal grandparents Candelario Rivera and Anita Rivera Sul; maternal grandparents Jórge Garcia and Juanita Cantù Garcia.

Survivors include her mother, HIlda Rivera; her brothers Joe Rodriguez and wife Emma; Ruben Rodriguez; Richard Rodriguez and wife Gigi; sister Veronica Muth and husband David; brother Ruben Rivera; sister Veronica Haynes and husband Marc; aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews who all miss her and love her.
When Eunice was a baby, she had beautiful curls that reminded everyone of Shirley Temple. Her grandma Juanita was upset with mom when mom cut Eunice's hair.  Eunice loved fishing, basketball, football, golf, bar-b-queing, music & dancing, and a good laugh. One of her favorite pastimes was gazing at the sunsets. She found peace and relaxation when she stared at them. She also loved being around family and friends as well as her pets out in the country. Living in the country afforded her the opportunity to spend time outdoors (she'd rather be outdoors than indoors). Once when she was young, one of her brothers noticed she had ducks, goats, chickens, dogs and cats eating together from a big trash can lid!  Upon seeing this, he was amazed, and thought: who does that???  Another one of her brothers taught her about motorcycles and how to ride his horse. He also taught her how to dance to country/western music. Another brother fondly remembers the fishing trips and bar-b-que times outside his house at the ranch. They had meaningful conversations and listened to music together quite often. One of her sister's favorite memories of Eunice is singing with her on road trips with mom and dad. They sang their hearts out until finally their parents asked them to stop. Sadly, she was not able to enjoy these things anymore due to chronic pain. Though she was not a baptized Witness, she whole-heartedly believed in the Bible's promise of a better future where pain will be no more. She looked forward to seeing dad in the resurrection and always shared her beliefs with her friends whenever possible, based on what mom shared with her from the bible.

We would like to thank the friends and family for your unbelievable support. The delicious meals, snacks, thoughts, heartfelt prayers, phone calls, and encouraging visits mean so much to all of us.  What a blessing you have been! We love all of you.
