Emilio Garcia

Emilio Garcia, aka “Weird”, age 64, was called home to be with our Lord on March 8, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 17, 1958, to Juan and Maria Garcia. He graduated from Moody High School in 1977. Emilio was a hardworking man, lifetime roofer, who was employed by Haeber Roofing for many years. He enjoyed playing softball when he was young, coaching little league teams, and spending time with his children and family. He will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity to everyone, and his unique personality. He never turned down anyone who needed help, Uncle Weirdo was always just a phone call away. Emilio was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Emilio is reunited in death with his parents, Juan and Maria Garcia, and siblings, Margarita Benavidez, Jesus Sr., Jose, Marcos, and Roberto Garcia Sr.

He is survived by his son Jacob Garcia, daughter Emily Garcia, granddaughter Juliette Garcia, the mother of his children, Beatrice Figueroa, sisters, Adela (Johnny) Hernandez, Maria (Terry) Bess, Amelia Garza, Flora (Amador) Valdez, Ninfa (Dionicio) Garcia, brothers, Juan Garcia Jr., Rosalio (Cynthia) Garcia, Samuel (Maria Luisa) Garcia, Alberto (Gloria) Garcia. Sisters-in-laws Diana Garcia, Rebecca Garcia, and Susie Garcia.

On behalf of the family, a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Nurses on Wheels, for their kind, compassionate, and exceptional care. A special thank you to his niece Lorena Garcia-Hopkins, for all the help with his care in his final days.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on March 19, 2023 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on March 20, 2023, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment to follow to Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are, Juan Garcia Jr., Rosalio Garcia, Alberto Garcia, Jacob Garcia, John Robert Arriaga, and Emilio Garcia.
