Elva Villanueva

Elva Villanueva, also known to her family and friends as Shelby. Left this world on November 27, 2021 at Christus Spohn Shoreline in Corpus Christi, Texas. Shelby was born on February 6, 1965 at Memorial Hospital. She was born to the proud parents, Marcos L. Villanueva and Elva C. Gurleski. Elva became the mother of two beautiful daughters, Tiffani A. Villanueva and Alyssa L. Villanueva, whom she loved dearly. She became a grandmother to Faith Moya, Jose Guillen, Melody Guillen, Robert G. Alvarez and Nathaniel Villanueva. Elva enjoyed entertaining the family. She loved to sing and dance Tejano and County music. Elva love to spend time with her family during the holidays and cookouts, most of all she was an excellent cook. Her girls were her pride and joy and she leaves behind a beautiful family legacy in which she was charitable and mostly cherishes her loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her father, Marcos L. Villanueva, step-father Michael J. Gurleski, brother-in-law John A. Trevino III, best friend Michelle Valdez.
Shelby is survived by mother Elva C. Gurleski, daughters Tiffani and Alyssa, sisters, Irma Moreno (Jaime), Ruth Trevino Livas (Raymond), brother Marcos Villanueva Jr. (Minga)longtime companion Miguel Gomes Sr., grandchildren, nieces and nephews Jessica and Laura Villanueva, Larry Valadez Jr. (Erica), Jake Valadez, Justin Villanueva, Angel M. Villanueva, Jeffrey Pantoja Jr. (Kassie), several great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support. A special thanks to everyone who helped in the benefit Bar-B-Q, the cooks the people who made donations and help serve. A very special thanks to Mr. Ruben Bonilla also a special thanks to the medical staff at Spohn Shoreline for doing their best Med Team who she worked for and then became a client. A special thanks to Elaine Stallings for the book markers and also a special thanks to the one who took the time with all the patience to write these lovely words Jayme Raye Stallings.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Services that same evening. Services will conclude that evening.
