Edward Arthur Oaden

      
Edward Arthur Oaden, age 73, passed on to the other side of life on June 4, 2018.
He was born on July 23, 1944 to Edward and Lois Irene Oaden. He graduated from Valparaiso High School, Del Mar College (Associate of Arts) in 1983, and Corpus Christi State University (Bachelor of Business Administration) in 1988. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1961-1981 as an AMS (airframe inert-gas arc-welder) and later as a, P-3 Flight Engineer. He earned his aircrewman’s Wings of Gold in 1972 and completed the Navy Deep Water Environmental Survival Training Course in 1974. Edward was employed by Hawker Beechcraft in 1981 as an A&P mechanic. As a government contractor he worked on military aircraft in Morocco, Turkey, Germany, Bahrain, and Texas. He was also a real estate agent for a time. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, National Rifle Association, Garand Collectors Association, K Space Contemporary Art, Art Partners (Del Mar College), Freemasons, York Rite Commandery and Roy Arch, and National Sojourners.
He will be remembered for his ability to fix almost anything, and for utilizing his talents to help others. He built and maintained aircraft, automobiles, and houses. Edward was a loving father and husband. He enjoyed helping friends and neighbors and loved dogs, art, and music. Edward is missed by friends and family. We will always appreciated his every effort to help others and educate them to help themselves, as he continues to do even from the other side of life. Edward Arthur Oaden is preceded in death by his parents, Edward James Oaden and Lois Irene Oaden, and his brother, Edward James Jr. Oaden (October 31, 1942-April 12, 1943).
Edward Arthur Oaden is survived by his wife, Michelle Dana Oaden, his sons, Arthur Edward Oaden, Jeffrey Edward Oaden; cousins, Joanne K. Bickerton, Bob Corcoran and Margaret Smith and niece Cynthia Jo Bickerton.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
