Edmund Garcia

Edmund Garcia Jr., age 81, passed away on May 10, 2022. He was born on June 27, 1940 to Edmund Garcia and Carmen Garcia. He graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1958. He wanted to enlist in the Air Force, however due to his disability, he was unable to enlist. Edmund was employed by Nueces County Courthouse, Driscoll Children’s Hospital and H-E-B. He enjoyed recycling aluminum cans, watching Dallas Cowboys, playing video games and find and circle puzzle books. He also enjoyed going for walks and riding by the seawall. Edmund will always be remembered for his sense of humor and generosity. He would help other family members in their time of financial hardship. Edmund was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, son, uncle and cousin.
Edmund is preceded in death by his mother, Carmen Garcia, father, Edmund Garcia Sr, older brother, Roland Garcia, cousin, Jesse Reyes, aunts, Teresa Reyes, Concha Cochran, and Catherine Muniz, uncles, Ray Muniz and John Cochran, grandmother, Josefina Garcia and grandfather, Jose Garcia.
Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife, Kerry Garcia, daughter, Diana Garcia, three grandchildren, Victoria Vargas, Robert Vargas Jr., and Trebor Vargas, two great-grandchildren, Aria Gomez and Ava Gomez, brother, Rick Garcia, nieces and nephews, Roland Garcia, Jr, Arnold  Garcia, Gilbert Garcia, Michelle Garcia Brock, Rose Ann Moriarty, Julie Flippo Pipkins, and Chuck Flippo.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed with funeral services at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Reid Chapel in Seaside Memorial Park. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Having the distinguished honor to service as pallbearers are Robert Vargas Jr., Trebor Vargas, Rick Garcia, Timothy Garcia and Richard Garcia, Jr.
A special “Thank You” to Gilbert and Dee Dee Garcia for their donation to Corpus Christi Funeral Home. Also a special thanks to his brother, Rick Garcia and his wife Hilda Garcia for being there and supporting the family in helping organize services.
