Don Corley
January 11, 1925 ~ March 24, 2020 (age 95) 95 Years Old
On March 24th, 2020, Mr. Donald M. Corley Sr. was called to his Maker. He is survived by his Wife, Ruby Jo Corley, his Daughter Patricia J. Richardson and his sons, Donald M. Corley Jr, Steven M. Corley, David R. Corley, Randy L. Corley, John M. Corley, and Richard L. Corley. Mr. Donald M. Corley was a graduate of Baylor School of Business (B.S.) and a Master of Science from East Texas State University, Commerce Texas. Mr. Corley started his long career after serving in the U.S. Army during WWII and finishing his B.S. Degree. He worked for Banks in Beaumont (serving as Vice-President) and in Corpus Christi Texas. During the late 50’s he started his own company, American Dividend, building two office buildings in Six Points, Corpus Christi. During that time he also owned and operated the Twin Palms Night Club. Selling his interest in American Dividend, Mr. Corley taught at Durham Business College and, after completing his M.S. degree moved to Del Mar College where he taught Computer Science, ultimately becoming Dean of the Computer Science Department. During this time, he owned and operated Computer Group, installing the first Port Management Software for both the Corpus Christi and Brownsville Ports. Retiring from Del Mar College, Mr. Corley owned and operated Worlds of Fish pet store and ultimately Colony Cellar Winery, Waller County Texas. “Be my strong refuge, To which I may resort continually; You have given the commandment to save me, For You are my rock and my fortress.
