Daniel Moreno, age 63, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2022 surrounded by his family. He graduated from Foy H. Moody High School in 1977. Daniel retired as an industrial painter after working many years in the Corpus Christi area refineries. He was an avid Cowboys fan who loved family get-togethers and smoking a cigarette while having some beers.
He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and deep love for his family, but most of all, his grandkids who called him “Welo”.
Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Hortencia Moreno; siblings, Mario Moreno and Dolores Morin; father-in-law, Israel H. Garcia and brother-in-law, Johnny Ramirez.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Araceli Moreno; children, Yvette Martinez, Amanda (Dominick) Ayala, Daniel Moreno, Jr., Vanessa (Frankie) Moreno; grandchildren, Joshua Martinez, Tristan Castillo, Trey Castillo, Jazlynn Martinez, Emma Hinojosa, Isaiah Hinojosa, D.J. Ayala, Ezrah Ayala; sisters, Carmen Ramirez, Belia Moreno, Bertha (Roland) Moreno; brother, Antonio (Maria) Moreno, Jr.; 2 cousins he saw as siblings, Nicolas (Connie) Ortega, Janie (Marcos) Garcia; numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a rosary to be held at 7:00 PM that same evening. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 15, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Joshua Martinez, Albert Moreno, Baldemar Barba, David Moreno, Mario Moreno, Jr., Jose Ramirez and Lionel Morin. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicolas Ortega and Antonio Moreno, Jr.
