Beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Dalia “Dale” Alvarez, 74, of Corpus Christi, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 25, 2017.
     
     Born March 27, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Aurora Ybarra.
     
     She is survived by her three sons, John Alvarez of California, Joseph Alvarez and his wife, Mary, of Corpus Christi, James Alvarez and his wife Stacy, of Rockwall; her daughter, Rhonda Alvarez of Corpus Christi, her grandchildren, Desiree, Derek, Brandi, Noelle, Jon, Raven, Victor, Josue, and Brannan, and two great-grandchildren, Raylene and Oliver; her sister Christine Ochoa; and an extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
     
     Mom had a spirit like no other. She loved to laugh and have fun. She had a passion for gardening. She lived life to the fullest. Her love for her family was immense. She was proud of each of her kids and grand-kids. She loved to tell anyone who would listen how great they all were. She was generous to a fault. Some of her best times were simply playing a game of Scrabble with her daughter, playing Uno with her grandkids, playing Canasta with her sister, or playing Yahtzee with whoever was willing. Her smile, laugh, and witty comments will be sorely missed by all. 
     
     
     
     The family will receive friends 5 – 9 PM on Thursday, September 7, 2017, with a prayer service at 7 PM at Corpus Christi Funeral Home, 2409 Baldwin Blvd, Corpus Christi, TX 78405. Visitation will continue Friday, September 8, 2017 at 8 AM until 12 noon. A funeral procession will depart Corpus Christi Funeral Home at 12:30 PM, Friday, September 8th. A graveside service will be held at Rose Hill Memorial Park at 1 PM.
