Cynthia Hafemeister

Cynthia L. Hafemeister, 49, passed away Jan. 12, 2020. She was born Feb. 15, 1970, in Belleville, Ill., and adopted by Robert and Patricia Schwartz. She was raised in Fairview Heights and Collinsville, Ill., and graduated from Collinsville High School in 1988 and continued her education at Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville.
She married Rodney P. Hafemeister on Aug. 30, 1997, and gave up a fulltime career to homeschool and raise their five children.
She will be remembered for her work with her daughters’ dance school, where she served as board president and parent liaison, as well as her support of their swimming, gymnastics, soccer, archery and baseball activities.
She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Schwartz.
She is survived by her husband, Rod, and children Richard, Anna, Sarah, Margaret and Andrew.
Visitation will be held from 6p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, at Corpus Christi Funeral Home, 2409 Baldwin Blvd., Corpus Christi, TX 78405.
She will be cremated with her ashes later distributed at Mount St. Helens, WA.
