Consuelo R. Gomez

Consuelo R. Gomez, age 62, passed away July 24th, 2020. She was born on December 28th, 1957 to Refugio and Josefina Rodriguez in Corpus Christi, Texas. She married her husband Samuel Gomez Sr. of 31 years on July 31st, 1989. Samuel Gomez Sr. was a loving father who sacrificed for his family. Consuelo will always be remembered as a wife, mother, and grandmother devoted to her family. She gave all her love to her two granddaughters, Gabrielle and Charlotte, who always gave her a reason to smile. She will be remembered as someone who loved and believed in God and her Catholic faith. She always tried to lend a helping hand to her nephews, nieces, other family members, and friends. She never passed up an opportunity to have family gatherings and have everyone enjoy her cooking. She will be remembered as someone who loved to have coffee, tacos, play bingo, and scratch off lucky lotto tickets.
Consuelo is preceded in death by her husband Samuel Gomez Sr., her parents Refugio & Josefina Rodriguez; her brothers Pedro Rodriguez & Refugio Rodriguez Jr. (Angie); her sisters Anna Maria Leal (Armando Leal Sr.), Esther Cervantes (Andres Cervantes); nieces Maria E. Cervantes, Angelica Rodriguez, Priscilla Montemayor, and sister in law Elizabeth Rodriguez.
Consuelo is survived by her children Samuel Gomez Jr., Consuelo “Connie” Gomez (grandchildren Gabrielle Lynne Lazo and Charlotte Faith Lazo), Joe Anthony Gomez, and Juan Angel Gomez. Her brother Guadalupe Rodriguez, sister Lidia Montemayor (Richard), sister Minnie Villela (Guy), brother Pete Rodriguez, brother Ernest Rodriguez (Sylvia), and numerous nieces and nephews.
 Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2020 at Reid Chapel in Seaside Memorial Park. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Reid Chapel. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Due to COVID limitations, the Rosary and services will be limited to 75 people. Masks are required.
