Obituary

Clarice Randle-Hicks was born (Clarice Hannah) on July 15, 1928, to the late Dovie Mack Hannah and Henry Hannah in Gatesville, TX. Clarice attended grade school in Gatesville, TX, gave her life to Christ at an early age, and soon after, she and her family relocated to Corpus Christi, TX.
As a young adult, Clarice began her extensive career in housekeeping and maid service. At the age of 20, on December 18, 1948, Clarice and James Randle (deceased) were joined in holy matrimony. Later in life, she decided to attended classes for training where she received her certificate in both, auto mechanics and upholstery. After raising her children and grandchildren, she reconnected with Lewis Hicks (deceased) and they were married on May 28, 2005. Clarice was a woman full of love and patience. She personally cared for Lewis, and her mother, Mama Dovie, until their heavenly transitions.
Clarice’s hobbies were working on cars, gardening, sewing, making special items for the family, barbecuing, caring for her animals - she took in lots of stray animals making sure they were taken care of - and spending quality time with her family and friends. Clarice was a faithful and active member of Hatch Street Church of God & Christ, even throughout her sickness, as well as her community. She was also very active in her children’s and grandchildren’s education and extracurricular activities. She will forever be known for her love and trust in The Lord. Her spiritual mantra was, “The Lord will make a way. - just lean on and depend on Him.”
Clarice taught everyone she met about The Lord. She treated everyone with love and kindness and showed a special love for anyone that crossed her path. Clarice was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother; auntie, cousin, and friend to all who knew her. She loved the Lord, her family, and all of God's children.
Clarice is preceded in death by her parents, Dovie and Henry Hannah; her sister, Hazel Killingsworth; two brothers; Henry Hannah and Clarence Hannah; and her daughter, Ollie Mae Wright.
Those left behind include her brother, Billy Hannah; her children, Preston Hannah (Leona), James Randle (Donna-deceased), Lois Jefferson (Leon-deceased), Henrietta Spearman (Larry-deceased), Melvin Randle (Deborah), Buford Randle, Dovie Miller (Ralph - deceased), 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. Clarice loved her family. She was truly passionate about family reunions and the gathering of generations and is famous for her collection of family photos. . She will be truly missed but never forgotten.
She was 93 years old.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Calvary First Baptist Church. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
