Christine Aragon Hernandez

Christine Aragon Hernandez, age 86, was called by her Savior to her Heavenly Home on September 27, 2021. Christine was born on April 6, 1935 to Joseph and Grace Aragon. She graduated from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She began teaching in Seligman, Arizona. Moving to Corpus Christi with our Dad, she brought her talent and gift for education to Corpus Christi Independent School District. She continued to do what she thoroughly enjoyed in molding young lives with her passion for faith in Our Lord and teaching at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic School in the Diocese of Corpus Christi. The majority of her teaching career was at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic School. Our Mom, Mrs. H., retired after 45 wonderful and rewarding years.
Christine will always be remembered for her love of Our Amazing God and Our Blessed Mother. She was such a woman of faith! She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. All who met or knew Mom felt the warmth of her love towards them. Everyone felt the loving Spirit of God when in her presence. Our Mom represented all the characteristics that God asks all of us to possess.
Christine is preceded in death by her son, Anthony, her loving husband of 41 years, our Dad, Antonio “Tony” Hernandez; her siblings, Joseph, Lawrence, Barbara Aragon, Polly Garcia; and her second husband, Tommy Martinez.
Christine is survived by her children; Veronica Hernandez Morin, Cissy Kauffman, Cynthia (Michael Benavidez), and Joseph Hernandez. She is survived by her grandchildren; Valeria (Alfredo Rosales), Patrick, Christopher (Amie), Jacob (Christine), Noah, Grace, Tony, Joseph, Jordan (Cortnee), and Matthew (Karen). She is also survived by her great grandchildren; Leo, Carter, Zayn, Reed and Griffin. She is survived by her nieces and nephews from Corpus Christi, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, California and Florida. Tia Christina/Aunt Christine loved you all very much! She leaves many special and dear friends that she kept in her heart.
Public visitation will be on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Seaside Reid Mausoleum Chapel with a Rosary and Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park, Resurrection section.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Patrick Morin, Christopher Morin, Jacob Hernandez, Noah Benavidez, Tony Benavidez, Joseph Hernandez, Matthew Benavidez, Jordan Kauffman, Michael Benavidez, and Alfredo Rosales. Honorary pallbearers are her great grandsons, Leo Rodriguez, Carter Kauffman, Zayn Benavidez, Reed Hernandez and Griffin Hernandez.
