Obituary

Candelario Hinojosa, age 74, passed away on October 9, 2021. He was born on February 2, 1947, in Laredo, Texas, to Martin and Rita Hinojosa. Candelario worked with the Corpus Christi Independent School District, S. Padre Pediatrics and retired from the City of Corpus Christi. He enjoyed fishing and carpentry. Candelario was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed.
Candelario is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Juan Hinojosa, and sister, Rosario Hinojosa Patel.
Left behind to cherish Candelario’s memories are his wife, of 52 years, Margarita Hinojosa, daughter, Laura (Rodolfo) Herrera, three grandchildren, Mary Jane Herrera, Jeremy Herrera, Miya Herrera, two great-grandchildren, Emaleigh Griffin, David Griffin, two brothers, Antonio Hinojosa, Jesus Hinojosa, two sisters, Alicia Lopez, Celia Singletary and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that same evening at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
