Belia Billie Munguia

The Angelic Wings of Angels fluttered amongst the windows of the soul to lead Belia into the inspiriting arms of God on Sunday, September 23, 2018.
Belia was born on June 14, 1927 in Gonzales, Texas to Martin and Anita Lopez. She was a beautician for 60 years and everyone knew her as “Billie”. She was very active in the community and loved singing at the Jazz Festival with the Holy Cross Church Choir. She enjoyed cooking with her family and loved sharing her recipes with them. Billie loved all kinds of jewelry and had a passion for drawing, this would make her so happy. She is preceded in death by her son, Roland Munguia who is by her side now.
She is survived by her husband, Jose H. Munguia: her children, Annette Munguia, Janette Ortega and Marty Romero; grandchildren: Eric Munguia, Joseph Michael Gonzalez, (Teddi Allen), Jennifer Gonzalez (Omar Leal), Johnathan Gonzalez, Angelica Downie-Munguia and Regina Prezas (John); great grandchildren, Lyrek, Layna, Leedyn Rivera, Issac Gonzalez and numerous brothers and sisters that she cared for dearly. Belia’s legacy is survived through faith, joy, happiness and her family.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Reid Chapel, 4357 Ocean Dr., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be: Eric Munguia, Joseph Michael, Johnathan and Joseph A. Gonzalez, Noel Villarreal and Hidalgo Salas.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Lyrek Rivera and Omar Leal.
