Aurora R. Lopez (Lola) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on April 1, 2024 at the age of 76. Aurora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her devoted husband Retired Chief Petty Officer Antonio Lopez (“Twan”, the love of her life), her two children Mario Antonio Rodriguez Lopez and Maria Angelica Lopez. Also, her “shweelys”, her grandchildren Marissa Ann Licon (Steven Ray Rholetter) Mariana Alea Lopez and her great grandson Landon R. Rholetter.

She is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Erasmo Rodriguez Jr., Arnold Rodriguez, Daniel (Rita) Rodriguez Sr., Anthony Rodriguez Sr., Guadalupe Cepeda (Jose), Victoria Villarreal (Richard), Jesusa Guzman (Alex), Alicia Raya (Robert), Maria De La Garza (Antonio Sr.) as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members in our ever-growing family.

Aurora is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Erasmo Rodriguez Sr. and Petra Garza Rodriguez, her sister Martina Shepherd, brothers Abel Rodriguez Sr. (Delia) and Raymond Rodriguez Sr. (Stephanie), niece Elizabeth Villarreal and nephews Jose Rodriguez and Robert Cepeda Sr.

After traveling with her husband, a career Navy Chief Petty officer, they returned to her hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas and created a permanent home with their children. She dedicated several years to CCISD working in food service at Richard King HS. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and creating beautiful crafts/decorations for many occasions, especially family events. And she loved her Alexa! But most of all, Aurora loved her family. She was a beautiful soul, who was always smiling, joking, and laughing, no matter what life brought her way. She is a rock, a best friend. She will forever be, a pretty lady….

Having the distinguished honor to serve as Pallbearers are Mario Lopez, Steven R. Rholetter, Anthony Rodriguez Sr., Antonio De La Garza Jr., Demetrious Guzman, Anthony A. De La Garza, Christian I. Del La Garza, and Daniel Rodriguez Jr. Honorary Pallbearer will be Marissa A. Licon

Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 9, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited that same evening at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
