Armando Menchaca, age 89, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Armando was born on February 6, 1929 in San Diego, Texas to Dario and Carlota Ibanez Menchaca. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was active in the Korean War. He worked as a welder, was a long time shrimper and loved going out to the ranch.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Hinojosa Menchaca; Son, Armando Valdemar Menchaca; Sons-in-Law, Richard Garza, Daniel Rocha; Siblings, Jose Menchaca, Elodia Reyes, Delia Maldonado and Dario Menchaca, Jr.
Armando is survived by his children, Alma Rocha, Armandina Escondrias (John), Roy Molina (Aurora), Belinda M. Garza, Norma M. Solis (David), Nora M. Parsons (Steven Humlicek), Melissa M. Garza (Micky); 24 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren; Sister, Gloria Casillas (Arturo); Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
