Anna Liza Salgado

Ana Liza Salgado, age 62, passed away on September 17, 2021. She was born on May 14, 1959 to Rudy F. and Guadalupe Valenzuela.

She was a bus driver for CCISD and Robstown ISD. She was a server at La Estrellita/La Familia Mexican Restaurant in Robstown for many years. She enjoyed fishing with her friends, playing bingo, barbecuing, spending time with her friends and family and watching her beloved Dallas Cowboys.

She will always be remembered as being a strong women that was outspoken in her opinions. She always had the last word in a conversation. Her unique sense of humor and blunt talk will be missed by all those who knew her.

Ana was a loving daughter, aunt, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her brother Rudy L. Valenzuela, maternal grandmother, Maria P. Pina, paternal grandparents, Jose and Delfina Valenzuela, and the “love of her life”, Juan Ramon Salgado.

Ana is survived by her children, Omeada Salgado (Danny Deleon), Juan Ramon Salgado Jr (Leonel Guerrero), Joe Salgado, June (Sonya) Salgado, parents, Rudy F and Guadalupe Valenzuela, sister, Jean (Arturo) Torres, Gary (Anna) Valenzuela, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 9 pm on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 7 pm that evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church on October 8, 2021 at 1 pm. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Ana’s grandsons, John Jay Salgado, Pedro Gomez III, Joe Rudy Salgado Jr, Joshua Refugio Salgado, Esteban Rey Gomez, Joseph Ramon Salgado, Jonathon Rene Salgado, and Rene June Salgado.
