Angelica F. “Hermana Gonzales” Gonzales, 85, Christian, wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother peacefully joined her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.
She is welcomed in Heaven by her parents, Adela and Felix Fuentes; sister, Lupita Garcia; sister, Petra Pena; brother, Jose Garcia; brother, Jose Gonzales; and brother, Rene Fuentes.
Angelica was born in Yorktown, Texas on July 23, 1932. She moved to Corpus Christi at a young age where she spent the remainder of life. Her teenage years were full of youth and beauty. She was named the “Mariposa Queen” of the San Diego Dance Hall in her teens.

She married the love of her life, Ray B. Gonzales, on February 17, 1951. They shared 66 years of marriage.
Angelica worked at various jobs throughout her life, but became a familiar face to many while working at the Coffee Shop inside the former Memorial Hospital. She spent years making friends from all walks of life, listening and talking to them as they visited family in the hospital.
Angelica’s pride rested in her family. She raised one daughter and three sons. All of her children attended Roy Miller High School. Angelica bled purple and gold. Angelica’s joy lived in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Angelica spent many years worshipping at Primera Asamblea Iglesia de Dios. She made lifelong “hermanas” and became passionately involved in groups in the church like the Tuesday Prayer Group, Women’s Ministries and the Boys & Girls Missions Crusade/Challenge Buddy Barrel program. She was a Sunday school teacher for years. In the final years of her life, she became a faithful member of Marantha Pentacostal Church.
Angelica is survived by her beloved husband Ray; her children Lidia (Ricardo) Lopez; Reymundo “Buck” “Cuate” (Delia) Gonzales; Roberto “Bobby” (Felicitas) Gonzales; and Juan “Juanio” (Laura) Gonzales.
