Andrea Cruz Ortegon

Andrea Cruz Ortegon, age 88, passed away on July 5, 2020. She was born on January 22, 1932 to Carlos Cruz and Susanna Mendoza Cruz. She was a strong and faithful woman of God and attended Church at Cristo El Redentor. She will always be remembered for her faithfulness in God’s work. Andrea was a devoted mother to her children and grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and aunt.
Andrea is preceded in death by her husband, Roel Antonio Ortegon Sr., sons, Roel Antonio Ortegon Jr., Rolando Ortegon, Enrique Ortegon, parents, Carlos Cruz and Susanna Mendoza Cruz of Kingsville, TX., 3 brothers, Mercedes Mendoza, Domingo Cruz and Carlos Cruz Jr., 4 sisters, Felicita C. Garza, Amparo Nunez, Juanita M. Cruz and Susanita Cruz, all from Kingsville, TX., great-grandson, JoAngel Ortegon and great-granddaughter, Ariel Mariah Melchor.
Andrea is survived by her children, Juan Ramon (Febe) Ortegon of Corpus Christi, TX., Maria Andrea Ortegon (Benito) Encinia of Corpus Christi, TX., LeeRoy (Guillermina) Ortegon of Corpus Christi, TX, Rachel Lee Ortegon (Jose) Saucedo from San Antonio, TX., JoAnn Ortegon (Gerardo) Jaime of Schertz, TX., numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Andrea is also survived by her siblings, Elvira Charles, of Corpus Christi, TX., Maria Rodriguez of Kingsville, TX., Maria Elena Villarreal of Kingsville, TX., Francisca Cruz Reyes of Bloomington, TX., Ramon Cruz of Abilene, TX., Guadalupe Cruz of Arizona City, AZ., Romalda Cruz Mendoza and Martin Mendoza.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home, a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2020 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Chamberlain Cemetery in Kingsville, Texas.
Due to COVID-19 limitations, the services will be limited to 75 people. Mask are required/mandatory. A live stream of the services will be available for friends and family to view from their home.
