Amelia Palomo Vasquez, age 81, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2019 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Amelia was born on October 16, 1937 in Tampico, Mexico. She migrated to America, married Manuel M. Vasquez, and became an American Citizen and settled in Corpus Christi, Texas, where they continued to raise 8 children. Instilling in their children the importance of honoring God, solidifying the honor of raising a family and the importance of serving their fellow man. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, puzzles, reading the Bible and playing loteria. Amelia was a loving, caring, patient and understanding Mom. She provided us unconditional love and loved her children and grandchildren very much. Amelia was loved by many especially her children and grandchildren. She will be missed but remain in our hearts forever. She is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel M. Vasquez, her son Javier Vasquez, her mother, Elvira Rodriguez and a brother Fernando De La Cruz.
She is survived by her 7 children, Ernest Torres, Jose Manuel Vasquez (Lidia), Imelda Garcia (Ralph), Gustavo Vasquez, Martha Ruiz, Patricia Cantu (Rudy), Jose Luis Vasquez (Sara); numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; her brother Mauricio De La Cruz (Elena); and her aunt Lupe Rodriguez and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p .m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home.
Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
