Obituary

Abraham Jackson was born July 23, 1945, to Willis Jackson Sr. and Elta McCoy Jackson. He was the youngest son of twelve siblings. Abraham accepted Christ at an early age. He was a long-time faithful member of St. John Baptist Church and loved studying the Bible. He was a male chorus member, served as an usher, and volunteered for the food bank. Abraham did whatever was needed. One of his favorite songs was “You are a Way Maker.” A scripture was so befitting “A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.” He loved the LORD and shared Him with every opportunity. Abraham received the President Humanitarian Award for his work in the community.
Abraham was an employee of Halliburton, where he retired after working for forty-plus years. Being employed at Halliburton allowed him to be the adventurous person he was. Abraham toured countries like Saudi Arabia, Africa, and Kuwait. In addition, he traveled the U.S.; like Google Maps, he was Abraham Maps taking you down all the back roads. One of Abraham’s greatest joys was being with family. He could sit in the company of family and friends all day playing dominos.

Abraham was preceded in death by his parents, Willis Jackson, Sr. and Elta McCoy Jackson; Daughters, Andrea Jackson, and Jocelyn Jackson.

Abraham leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving wife of 31 years, Victory Jackson. Children: Mary Dupree (Oscar Jr.), LeSwan Jackson, Shawanna Jackson, Regina, Trina (John), Shaffer (Monica), Gerald (Chandra); Grandchildren: Dominique Jackson, Timothy Jackson, Deshaun Jackson, Jarod Jackson, Alvin Jackson, Calvin Jackson, Abraham Jackson, Amory Jefferson, Kendrianna Davis, Deidra Brown, Ricky Abbs, LeCresha Dupree, Oscar Dupree, III; Schanen (Reggie), John, Jr., Tanetra (Kehma), Steffany, Tiffany, RaKedra (Richo), Naomi (Coby), Jeremy (Brenda), Kendrick, Aquaila, Briana, Allauna, Kira; Siblings: Kankou Gerew (Betty) and James Jackson, Sister-in-Law: Brenda Glasgow (Lorenza); many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
