Minerva P. Pena

Minerva P. Pena, age 88, passed away on October 21, 2021. She was born on March 3, 1933, to Adrian Perez and Estela Perez De Perez. Minerva was employed, for over 50 years, by the Gallagher Family and American Chrome Refinery. She also volunteered for over 15 years at AmeriCorps. She was a strong independent woman and family meant everything to her. Her love was unconditional; she was a beautiful person inside and out. She lived life to the fullest. Her smile and laughter would brighten up the room. She was always willing to lend a helping hand; this was the type of person she was, and it demonstrated through her daily actions.

Minerva’s faith in God was strong and she was very active in the church community. She enjoyed being an active Guadalupana for over 50 years at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Likewise, she volunteered at the service centers, for over 20 years. She found enjoyment in dancing and spending time at the senior center with her friends and sharing her life growing up as a child. She will always be remembered for her unconditional love and laughter. Minerva was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.

Minerva is preceded in death by her husband, Miguel L. Pena, mother, Estela Perez De Perez, father, Adrian Perez, and brothers, Bernardo Perez and Severino Perez.

Minerva is survived by her children, Aida Guevara (Ruben), Miguel Pena Jr. (Sylvia), and David E. Pena (Deanna), seven grandson, Ruben J. Guevara, Adrian J. Guevara, Michael A. Guevara, Mark A. Pena, Eugenio A. Garza, Miguel Pena III and Marco Alaniz, one granddaughter, Elizabeth N. Pena, 16 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren, two brothers, Adrian Perez (Carmen) and Adan (Estela) Perez, one sister, Eva Hernandez.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that same evening at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1302 Lantana St., Corpus Christi, Texas. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Having the distinguished honor to serve, as pallbearers are Ruben J. Guevara, Adrian Guevara, Michael A. Guevara, Mark A. Pena, Eugenio A. Garza and Miguel Pena III.
