Salvador "Sonny" De La Garza, Sr., age 76, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2017 surrounded by his loving wife and family. Salvador was born on October 20, 1940 to Alonzo and Abelina De La Garza.

He leaves behind his beautiful and devoted wife of 58 years, Olga Rivera De La Garza. Our Dad Salvador was a Loving father to Diana (Rebecca) De La Garza, Salvador Jr. (Sandra) De La Garza, Delma (Vicente) Ortiz, Samuel (Tammy) De La Garza, Jeanette (Peter) Guerrero, Janiece (Jody) Garza, Dubelsa (Daniel) Bernal, and Suzanna De La Garza. Also, 15 grandsons, 17 granddaughters and 64 great grandchildren.

Our Dad was a very hard worker who built his home from the ground up and owned his own business as a Carpenter. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, camping, bingo and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Alonzo and Abelina De La Garza, twin sister Almagelina De La Garza, son Saul De La Garza, sister Nora De La Garza, brothers, Daniel, Alonzo and Pedro De La Garza.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 2, 2017, from 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., for family and from 2:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., for the public with a rosary at 6:30 p.m., at Corpus Christi Funeral Home 2409 Baldwin.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, July 3, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Pilar 1101 Bloomington, interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
