Obituary

Roderick Shaneal Moore, Son of Margie Moore and the late Roy Lester Moore Jr., went home to be with the Lord April 15, 2024.

Roderick was born in Jacksonville, Florida at the Naval Regional Medical Center and moved to Corpus Christi, TX with his parents at the age of 1 year.

Roderick graduated from Corpus Christi Academy High School and then attended Texas A&M, Kingsville. While attending Corpus Christi Academy Roderick was active in Basketball and his team went to District TAPPS led by Coach Joe Kocurek and Coach Roy DelaPena.

Roderick accepted his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Matthew Baptist Church. His childhood and adolescence years were at St. Matthew under the leadership of Pastor Elliot Grant and then Pastor Dale Laster. Roderick was active in Sunday school, church, and was a Youth Usher. He had a life long relationship with the Lord.

Roderick was a wonderful, hardworking, kind, caring, loving, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. He showed genuine love for his family and friends in numerous ways.

Roderick worked as a Contractor at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi Depot for 16 years as a Materials Expediter. He loved his job and the people he worked with.

Roderick loved motorcycles, bicycle riding, cars, and gaming. He loved his cat “Kitty” for 21 years before she passed. He had recently adopted cats “Big Head” and Priscella.

He did numerous long distance Bike rides with his brother Mark and his Uncle Billy.

Roderick loved attending his nephews Jeremiah and Josiah Morre basketball games. He was one of their biggest fans. He loved them and was so proud of them.

Roderick loved family traditions, holidays, spoiling his Mom, going to Victoria, Tx to visit Uncle Billy and Aunt Rose, and traveling to Hallettsville to work, hunt, and target practice on the Farm land.

Roderick is survived by his mother Margie Moore, Brother Mark Moore, Sister-in Law Paloma Moore, Nephews Jeremiah & Josiah Moore, Aunt Rose Nuells, Uncle Billy Spencer, Great Uncle Robert Goode Sr., Great Uncle Raymond Goode Sr. and wife Minne Goode, and numerous cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. A Prayer service will be held that same evening at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at St. John Baptist Church 5445 Greenwood Dr. Corpus Christi, Texas, 78417. Entombment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
