Rachel Gonzales, age 80 passed away on September 22, 2017.

She was born in Yorktown, Texas to her father, Mauricio Gonzales and her mother, Petra Guzman. Rachel is remembered for her strength as the matriarch of the family, her love for her children, and her incredible sense of adventure during family summer vacations. Rachel was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother as her home became a home to so many; as she ensured a loving and safe place for family in need.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mauricio and Petra Gonzales, and her siblings Sara, Vivian, Olivia, Maria, Mauricio Jr., Cecilio, Hisaias, and Thomasito.

Rachel is survived by her children Cirildo Pena (Diane), Sandra Soto (Manuel), Estella Parker (Jason), Velma Pina (Alfonso), Isaac Valdez (Susan), Lisa Jackson (Danny), and Liza Diaz (Adolfo), her siblings Benito Gonzales, Esther Davis, and Rosalinda Trevino and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at 11:00am followed by the memorial wake at 12:00pm on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Corner Stone Church, 3409 Waldron Rd. Corpus Christi, Texas 78418, funeral procession will follow to Rose Hill Memorial Park, 2731 Comanche, Corpus Christi, Texas 78408.
