Modesto “Moe” Ramos, age 76, died peacefully on June 30, 2017, with his family by his side.
Moe was born January 12, 1941, in Marlin, Texas to the late Ignacio and Rosalia Ramos. On April 29, 1967, he married the love of his life, Bennie Ramos. They shared their married life together in Corpus Christi, Texas where they raised their four children.
Moe spent over 40 years as a barber and was the co-owner of Moe & Johnny’s Barber Shop until he retired a few years age. Moe was a Cowboy with a passion and love for horses and spent his free time at his ranch in Bishop, Texas. He also enjoyed painting, working with leather, and visiting with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maria Benilde “Bennie” Ramos; two brothers, Jacinto and Louis Ramos; and a sister, Mercedes Ramos.
Moe is survived by his sons, Albert (Carrie) Ramos of Richmond, California and Steven Ramos of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughters, Jul-Anna (Marcus) Lee of San Diego, California and Jolanda (Joseph) Vasquez of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters, Josephine Force, Lucia (Joseph) Fundaro, both of Michigan, Rosalee Glasgow of Pasadena, Texas, Sofia (Chuck) Halphine of Houston, Texas; brothers, Fidel (Mary) Ramos of Victoria, Texas, Ignacio Ramos of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Reinaldo Ramos of Michigan. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren; Emily and Jack Ramos, Mark (Monique) Sanchez, Becky Sanchez, Isabella and Vincent Ramos, Brooklyn and Jordan Lee, Joseph Jr., Jul-Ina, Joliet Vasquez.
A special thank you to Angel Bright Hospice and Windsor Nursing Home in Corpus Christi, Texas for their loving care and support. Also, thank you to Corpus Christi Funeral Home for all of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens.
