Melanie A. Lee

June 13, 1946 ~ August 20, 2017 (age 71) 71 Years Old

Melanie Anne Miller Lee, 71, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on August 20, 2017, surrounded by family and friends.
The youngest of three children, Melanie was born on June 13, 1946 in Akron, Ohio, to Harold Miller and Pauline Zimmerman. She met Donald R. Lee in Ohio and later married & sealed on September 5, 1973 in Logan, Utah at the LDS Temple. Melanie and Don were blessed with three sons—Jonathon, Joshua, and Jared. Melanie and Don moved from Ohio to Texas in 1977 and raised their family here.

Melanie was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She is known for her compassion, love of family, friends, and Heavenly Father, as well as her willingness to serve and help those around her. She opened her home to family, friends and missionaries anytime, and people loved to be around her because of her special sense of humor and positive attitude. Melanie loved to bake cookies, especially her delicious cut-out cookies which were always carefully frosted and decorated to perfection. These were, in turn, carefully and quickly devoured!
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Corpus Christi 1st Ward, and participated in church by teaching children and youth Sunday School Classes, serving a Stake Mission in Ohio and attending the temple regularly. She gave countless hours of service and worked tirelessly as a registered scouter and leader in the local Boy Scouts of America Organization.

Melanie is survived by her husband, Donald R. Lee, and their three sons, Jonathon Lee (Teresa) of Corpus Christi, Texas; Joshua Lee (Michelle) of San Jose, California; and Jared Lee (Kiersten) of Canyon, Texas; as well as her sister, Marilyn Carano (Dennis) of Akron, Ohio; and brother, Ross Miller (Linda) of Taylors, South Carolina. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Jacob, Nathan, Samuel, Michael, and Ashby Lee, and Logan and Diego Espitia, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Pauline Miller. Melanie is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
