Mary Garcia Pantoja, age 80, passed away on September 19, 2017, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Mary was born on August 15, 1937, to parents Francisco and Juanita Garcia in Corpus Christi, Texas. Mary worked for St. Vincent De Paul Society for over 20 years and 15 years at Spohn Hospital 4 East. She will always be remembered for her love of helping and serving others, her door was always open for anyone. Mary is preceded in death by her step-son Juan Jose Pantoja, daughter Gloria Martinez, 2 brothers Pete Garcia and Reyes Hernandez, and sister Connie Castillo.
Mary is survived by her husband of 50 years Jose A. Pantoja Sr., children Ruby Salinas, Jose A. Pantoja Jr., John A. Pantoja, Vangie Flores, Estella Conde, Henry Cortez, Paula Carrillo, Robert Pantoja, David Pantoja, and Rosie Ortiz; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, including Big Allen, Jerry Pantoja, Boyd, Kimberly, Joshua Pantoja, and Little Allen; as well as brother Jose Garcia, Hector Garcia, Arnulfo Garcia, and Juan Garcia.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church.
Pallbearers will be Allen Rodriguez, Boyd Zuniga, Joshua Pantoja, Matthew Pantoja, Johnny Pantoja, and Chris Salinas Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers are Little Allen Rodriguez and Jerry Pantoja.
