Maria Lucio

Maria Guadalupe Lucio, 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 with her family lovingly by her side.  She was born on February 15, 1937 to Julian Sr. and Petra DeLeon Favela. Maria dedicated her life to her family. She raised seven children, Cornelius Sr., Juan Manuel, Jose (Marie), Laura (Richard) Orosco, Maria (William) Gallagher, Lucy Betancourt, and Lisa (Andrew) Alanis in a happy and loving home. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Manuel Lucio, her parents, 5 siblings and many loved ones.  A grandmother, known as MOM, to Cornelius Jr., Samantha, Manuel, Sergio, Dylon, Michael, Sharyon, Yasmeen, Xalynn, Ashleigh, Joey, Gabriel, Carlee, Lily, Zoe and great-grandmother to DeMarcus, Maden, Dezmin, CJ, Evalyn, Lacy, Ethan, and Mia, she treasured every minute spent with them.  Maria was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. 

She was known for her hearty laugh, kind heart and love for the Dallas Cowboys. She was the heart and soul of our family, an incredible matriarch, and she will be dearly missed. Maria lived a full loving life making forever memories with family which included BBQ gatherings, cooking for her family, trips, birthdays and holidays.  

Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M., Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. A Rosary and Funeral service to be held at 3:00 p.m. that same afternoon at Corpus Christi Funeral Home.
