Lydia Serrato Vasquez, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Lydia was born on April 3, 1921 to Esequiel Serrato and Adelina Ramirez in Piedras Negras, Mexico. She was home schooled. Lydia was employed by Eureka Cleaners and Laundry. Lydia enjoyed participation in National Daycare. She was a housewife who raised 9 children and 2 granddaughters. Lydia loved to play bingo and always enjoyed going shopping. Lydia will always be remembered for her devotion to family, she was always there to take care of her own children and grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her love she had for her family and for always being a loving mother.
Lydia is survived by her sons and daughters, Margarita Reta of Corpus Christi, Texas, Elizabeth Ceballos, Sammy Reta both of Dallas, Texas, Jesse Reta of Kansas City, Maria “Conchita” Mendoza of Corpus Christi, Texas, Elizabeth Linares of Houston, Texas, Lydia Reta of Corpus Christi, Texas, Elias Clark of Peidras Negras, Mexico; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7 pm that same evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
