I.G. Thompson, Sr, age 88, passed away on January 3, 2018. I.G. Thompson was born on April 19, 1929 to the late Edward and and Lillie Roberts Thompson. He was educated in the school of the life experience. I.G. Thompson, Sr was employed by J.I. Hailey Trucking as a truck driver until he retired. He enjoyed fishing, tv wrestling, working and his family.
He will always be remembered for his love of laughter, quiet nature and helping family and friends.
I.G. Thompson was a loving father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle and friend. His tangible presence is gone, but his spirit endures in our hearts forever. I.G. is preceded in death by Floria Lee Thompson, Lillie and Edward Thompson (parents), 3 brothers and 8 sisters.
I.G. is survived by three sisters, Estelle Hines of Edna, Texas, Lula Randle of Ganado, Texas. Hattie Gilmore of Houston, Texas. He was especially dear to his 8 children, Maggie Ann Davis, Corpus Christi Tx, Floria Ann Sims, Corpus Christi, Texas, I.G. Thompson J.R. (Jackie), Las Vegas, NV., Morris Thompson (Pamela) Rowlett, TX., Roberta Sue Edwards (Willie), Las Vegas N.V., Alonia Kaye Thompson (Amada), Corpus Christi, TX and (Patty) Franklin (Lester), Corpus Christi, Tx, twenty two grandchildren, forty three great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren as well as a multitude of family members and friends whose lives he touched.
A Public Visitation will be held Friday, January 12, 2018 from 5:00P.M. – 8:00P.M. Corpus Christi Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Edna, Texas.
Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Edna, Tx.
