Elvira S. Chavez, 88, entered eternal rest on January 17, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, (mother) Petra Cervantes, (father) Moises Saldana, (step father) Manuel Cortez, grandparents Jesus and Valentine Guillen, husband Juan C. Chavez Sr., son Evaristo, siblings Robert, Manuel, P.C., Roy, Soila and grandson John John.
Elvira is survived by her loving children Juan Jr. (Grace+) Chavez, Elvira Falcon, Eddie (Margie) Chavez, Esther Chavez, daughter- in- law Connie Chavez, grandchildren Sylvia Ann, Jessie, Evelyn, Elaine, Priscilla, Eric, Adam, Jennifer, Starr, 9 great grandchildren, sisters Irma (Rey) Salinas, Virginia Ortiz, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She will always be remembered as the most loving, caring devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching her novelas. She was always in constant prayer for her family and prayed the rosary daily.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
