Connie Albornoz Muñoz joined Our Lord and Savior on October 20, 2017. She was 88 years old, a lifelong resident of Corpus Christi and a devout parishioner of Saint Joseph Catholic Church. She was born on December 27, 1928 and graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1946. She was employed by Levi Strauss and Company until her retirement in 1989. She then volunteered, alongside her husband, at Driscoll Children Hospital. To the day of her death, her constant companion was her beloved Pomeranian, Dino, who never left her side.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gonzalo R. and Maria Marta Albornoz, her husband of 53 years, Martin B. Muñoz, Jr., her granddaughter, Megan Rose Muñoz, her sister, Esther Nicholson and her youngest brother, Carlos Jose Albornoz.
Connie leaves behind her daughter, Yvonne (James R.) Santa Ana of Brownsville, TX and her two sons, Martin B. (Thomas, RIP) Muñoz, III and Gerard (Benita) Muñoz, both of Corpus Christi. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Ryan Matthew (Celeste) Santa Ana and Todd Christian Santa Ana and her great grandchildren, Martha Ximena and James Ryan Santa Ana. She will be missed by her loving siblings, Anna M. Pro, Gonzalo (Olga) Albornoz, Ernesto (Betty) Albornoz, Alice (Dan) Splawn and numerous nieces and nephews.
Connie was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and great grandmother. Extremely gracious and thoughtful, she was a true lady in every aspect of her life. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, and baking. Her pecan pie was the best.
As a mother, she was everything to her children. She taught them to be generous and compassionate and above all, to love and have faith. She will be greatly missed here on earth.
A rosary is planned on Thursday, November 2, at 7:30 pm and a Memorial Mass on Friday, November 3, at 10:00 am both at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 710 S. 19th Street in Corpus Christi.  Her remains will be laid to rest with her husband in a private ceremony at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
