Bernardo S. Martinez, age 72, passed away on September 28, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Bernardo was born on June 2, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He worked for Sechrist Hall for 35 years as a roofer. Bernardo loved fishing, music, singing and dancing. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Ramona Martinez, wife, Lucelia S. Martinez; brothers, Guadalupe, Juan, Julian; sisters, Angelita, Consuelo, Rosenda and Viola.
He is survived by his daughters, Jo Ann Martinez (Ramiro Gonzalez Sr.), Sandra Martinez (Robert), Ruby Huerta (Martin Jr.); grandchildren, Natalie Zuniga (Jesse Rey), Christopher Navarro, Ramiro Gonzalez Jr., Hailey Martinez, Nolah Huerta; great grandson, Aiden Rey Zuniga; step granddaughters, Mindy, Mandy and Miranda; brothers, Roberto Martinez Sr., Rosendo Martinez Sr., Macedonio Martinez; sisters, Sylvia, Diana Hastings and Soila Galan; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Interment will be held at a later date at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be his nephews, Bobby, Freddy and Joe Martinez, Eric, Jesse Vela and Felix Linan Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
