Benito G. Alvarado

Benito G. Alvarado, age 86, passed away on April 1, 2024. He was born on January 11, 1938, to Geraldo Alvarado and Agapita Garcia Alvarado in Pawnee, Texas but was raised in Kennedy, Texas.

Benito Alvarado was self-employed throughout his career in construction as a general contractor. Benito started out in a farm field driving a combine tractor at 8 years old and later found his passion for construction. He took great pride in his craftsmanship and everything he built. His professional experience brought him to build his wife, Petra, their dream home. Hands down, Benito Alvarado was an expert carpenter.

He will always be remembered for his love, quiet nature, sense of adventure, service in the community, and devotion to family. He was always helping his family with additions and renovations. He loved his Bushy, a little red Pomeranian, who lasted 20 years with his fur family, Benito and Petra. During his retirement years, he did little odd jobs here and there like cutting yards and demo work because he couldn’t stay still. He had to be moving. Benito Alvarado was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and uncle.

On November 30, 1977, he met his beautiful wife, Petra. Together they joined their beautiful families and children.

Benito is preceded in death by his parents, Geraldo Alvarado and Agapita Garcia Alvarado, five brothers, three sisters, one son-in-law, Fred Livas and grandson, Jesus Jay Toro, III.

Benito Alvarado is survived by his wife Petra Alvarado, children Susan Turner (Kevin), Helen Livas, Jesus Reyes Jr. (Laura), Benito Alvarado, Jr., Jerry Alvarado, Sarah B. Ramos (Roberto) and Benito Alvarado (Realeen), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday April 12, 2024, at Corpus Christi Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will be recited that same evening at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at SS Cyrill and Methodius Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
